Reaching out to Uganda   

2012 marks 5 years since Dorcas left our church and began working with FOCUS (fellowship of Christian Unions) Uganda as communications Officer. Our church continues to give some financial support Dorcas from our tithe fund.     More . . .

Exciting times ahead as we build a second link with Uganda!   

Following a visit from Bishop George and Florence from the Soroti Diocese of Uganda, the Global mission team presented details of a proposed link with them at the May PCC meeting. The outline of the proposal is that we as a church support a Community project which will provide clean, safe drinking water for a village; we also want to ‘adopt’ a project at the suggestion of Bishop George – this may be helping to provide equipment for a hospital or school.      More . . .

 Miriam Davis in Japan   

Miriam is one of our link missionaries, working with OMF in Sapporo, Japan.  She works in her local church in evangelism, leading Bible studies and working one to one or in small groups and preaching. She is also involved with the Hokkaido Gospel Broadcast ministry, a Japanese ministry reaching out in evangelism through TV, telephone and radio.       More . . .

Nearer to home – Gloucester Food Bank   

While collecting for a Bosnia based children’s charity one of the collectors was asked “What are you doing for hungry children here?” His response was to provide emergency food help from his garden shed! Hence the food bank movement started in a shed in Salisbury in the year 2000, and the need convinced those involved to continue.        More . . .
